∙ 12y agoit's true that they are afraid of rats, but that's not the main worry. the main thing is that they are disgusted by the little animals because:
they can be very destructive, they can chew through their floors and walls, they chew through their electric cords, they leave their droppings all over the place, they steal their food, and last but not least, they can carry disease.
but undomesticated rats are the ones that carry disease, and destroy your house, unless you let your pet rat run around.
but rats, along with mice, can be very cuddly and neat, if trained to be so. they can also be trained to do tricks, and they can be VERY amusing!
For whatever reason humans are more afraid of rats than of mice. Symptoms of Fear Of Rat: breathlessness, excessive sweating, nausea, dry mouth, shaking, heart palpitations, inability to speak or think clearly, a fear of dying, becoming mad or losing control, a sensation of detachment from reality or a full blown anxiety attack.
