They can sometimes be annoying, but neccessary, to provide funding for the TV station. Without them, no one would have TV. So if you want TV, you must have advertising.

The BBC is exempt, because funding is raised by a TV licence.

Of course not. Commercials are what finances the programs you watch. Without them, there would be very little to watch.
