Its important to protect coral reefs because they are organisms that grow very large and it doesn't take 5 minutes to build one up its a long period of time and as I'm typing and as your reading the crown of thorns are destroying them the crown of thorns are very large jelly fish that eat them and leave just the caronate skeleton very bad.

We as people should protect coral reefs because, as in my text book, if we don't have coral reefs, it would change the movement of the ocean. If we got rid of all coral reefs, it would kill thousands of millions of coral polyps. It would also kill fish since it is a home to more species of fish than any enviorment on Earth. Along with fish, it would kill hundreds of species including sponges, worms, shrimp, crabs, sea turtles, sea snakes, sharks and many others.
because so many fishes and stuff live there and since lakes and stuff are being polluted, if the reefs are not protected the reef and the fishes in it are gonna die
Because they are homes for thousands and thousands of species, obviously.

Coral reefs are incredibly sensitive and thus much more open to disease and damage/destruction. Scientists, biologists, etc. are attempting to protect them by limiting what types and how much fishing occurs on a coral reef, limiting how much biotourism is allowed as some human diseases affect coral reefs as well as well as promoting the lessening of pollution and greenhouse gases. There are also laws in place to help protect the coral reefs and some coral reefs are protected areas much in the way national parks are often protected areas.
I like beaches more. Corals make them even more exotic.
It is not good, and is illegal in conservation areas where coral reefs are protected by law.
