Answer: We should learn about the ocean because it is a big producer of fossil fuels and also history. Fossil fuels are important because it is what leads to Global Warming. History can be uncovered from the ocean too. This would be important to learn because there might be animals/reptiles that we have never seen before, or an earlier version of us humans. There are tons of reasons to research or learn about the ocean.

The ocean is a very important habitat for life. We need some air, justified temperatures and enough water to survive long enough. The ocean is a huge source of water which we needed to rely on. Although there are some water bodies like rivers, lakes, etc. on land, the ocean also needs to be there, so that there'll be enough water. The ocean is also a home to many fishes. Many of our water sources from reservoirs but the reservoir waters might drain up but ocean waters can't drain up. They also drive the water cycle, which is important for us. If it didn't rain, the land will dry up, which can be terrible. There are some carbon sinks like plants and oceans. Plants can get rid of carbon dioxide but just one plant won't suck in a lot of them. The ocean is a bigger source and they take in more carbon dioxide better than plants and replace with oxygen. If there are no oceans, there won't be enough oxygen because ocean is a better carbon sink than plants. If you're in a city where there isn't a lot of plants, you won't suffocate to death right away because of the oceans. If you move away from the plants, the reason why there's still enough oxygen is because of oceans. The other thing is that desert is a harsh environment because water is rare and it's very hot. If the oceans disappeared, then we'll experience too much greenhouse gases and oxygen shortage, which is terrible, the fishes will have nowhere to live and the planet would be uninhabitable because there won't be enough water to retain life.
