Parents are jointly and severally liable for support of their child[ren]. Even leaving the moral obligation to support your child out of it, there's a very practical reason: If there is a court order saying you have to pay child support and you do not do so, then you will go to jail. Is that a good enough reason you "should" do it?
You can kvetch and moan about how "unfair" it is, but ultimately by not paying you're cheating your own kid, which is frankly pretty scummy. If you really truly believe that you're shouldering more than your fair share of the burden, go back to court and petition for the decree to be modified.
