Because the original secret societies are no longer enough to tackle and solve the problems of the world. Even with the number of secret societies now, there are still not enough, as you can see from any newspaper. To solve this problem, Yale University will soon expand to admit more students both at its New Haven campus, and also in a Yale-supervised campus in Singapore. More secret societies my be anticipated once the university has enough students to create them.
Skull and Bones. Not much of a secret. ;) The answer required for The Daily Telegraph General Knowledge crossword on the 8th March 2008 was Elihu. Apparently this is the sixth oldest secret society at Yale according to Wikipedia. Currently there are 9 so-called "above-ground" senior societies at Yale: Skull & Bones, Scroll & Key, Berzelius, Book & Snake, Wolf's Head, Elihu, St. Elmo, Manuscript, and Mace & Chain. Each has its own building (tomb) and a large trust fund. This much is common knowledge among Yale undergraduates and verifiable(?) on wikipedia and guidestar.org. According to Yale Rumpus, there are at least twice as many "underground" societies (newer groups with no tomb and less alumni support compared to their aboveground counterparts).

Yale undergraduates are not permitted to study gynegology formally but many do so informally anyway, and many have studied it indirectly through the course "Biological basis of gender and sexuality."

Yale University was originally called the Collegiate School when it was founded in 1701. It was renamed in honor of Elihu Yale in 1718. Yale had made a fortune with the East India Company and later the diamond trade, and he made some sizable donations to the school—books, a portrait of King George I, and some expensive textiles—and the school returned the favor by adopting his name, becoming Yale College. Yale was born in Massachusetts, but he left for England when he was three years old and never came back, so he never even visited the school that ended up bearing his name.
There are so many people who have a secret crush on Alec Konkle. They have not made it public because it is meant to be a secret.
