Sometimes one of the dual lite bulb filaments will partialy break and drop onto the other one and then gets power from the the other filament so it will come on now.

Check all your connections for ground are clean and tight.

Worst case scenario is the signal switch may be bad.

If your right one is working fine then it won't be a signal flasher unit.
