What is loading affect of multimeter?

'Loading effect' applies to voltmeters, or to multimeters when set to measure voltage. It describes the change in a circuit's resistance when the resistance of the voltmeter is taken into account. It's effect is to cause the resulting measuredvoltage to be different from the actual voltage which would appear without the voltmeter connected. The loading effect is minimised by ensuring that the internal resistance of the voltmeter is significantly higher than the resistance of that part of the circuit to which it is connected. For general voltage measurement, this is usually the case anyway, but when measuring circuits which, themselves, have very high resistance care must be taken over the choice of voltmeter to be used.

What is the difference between ammeters and amp meters?

An Ammeter connects a low impedance on the test points, so the equivalent of that is a "short circuit" between the test points. This is done to avoid a drop of current on the tested circuit. A Voltmeter connects a high impedance on the test points, so the equivalent of that is a "open circuit" between the test points. This is done to avoid a drop of voltage on the tested circuit. --------- In terms of external connections Ammeter (used to measure current) is connected in series of the circuit (through which the current flow need to be measured) and voltmeter (used to measure voltage) is connected in parallel to points in circuit (across which voltage needs to be measured).

Are thermostats in central heating systems usually connected into circuits in series or parallel?

In series. If they are connected in parallel then they won't cut off power supply when they switch off or when they open their contacts.

What type of diode exhibits negative resistance?

A Tunneldiode, usually made of GaAS. In a part of its curve it has a negative resistance. This means that when you increase the voltage in that region, the current will drop.

Why does electricity always want to get to the ground?

Electricity will always take the path of least resistance, usually the case is though a ground, if the wire becomes uninsulated you will see why it is very important to have equipment grounded (otherwise you could become the path of least resistance if you touch it)

Why you not usually use induction generator?

we do not use induction generator because it require an external source (synchronous generator) that provide reactive power to it.

Why is a resistance usually connected in series with zener diode?

To drop the unwanted voltage.

External modems are usually connected to a?

Moderm modems (Dial-up, Cable, ADSL) are connected directly to the Ethernet port of the computer.

Why do power stations use synchronous generators and not induction generators?

This is not entirely true. In small power stations not connected to grids and wind turbines they usually use induction generators instead of synchronous for their capability of producing energy at varying rotor speeds and their price which is lower the synchronous generators. Before I tell you why they use synchronous in big power stations connected to the grid you must know that usually you have more than one power plant connected to the grid. And if you want the power of each power plant to be added to the grid you need the all the alternating currents to be in phase so the frequency must be the same. And as you probably know they are called SYNCHRONOUS generators because the speed of the rotor (the frequency) is the same as the AC supply current. So obviously it will be much easier to control the frequency of a synchronous generator and therefore easier to synchronize with the grid.

How did you check the electical resistance of the headlight earth connection?

Ohmeter connected both ends ground circuit. Usually this circuit very short with minimal resistance due to that. Do you have a good solid ground?

What is audio port?

An audio port on a computer allows for the input and output of sound. It usually is an external connector that is internally connected to the motherboard or sound card.

External dial-up modems are usually connected to a?

On the telephone side, they are usually connected via a telephone cable to a wall telephone walljack. On the computer side they usually connected via a serial cable to the computer's serial port. Serial ports can have either 9 pin or 25 pin connectors, and so are often confused with parallel ports, which also can have 25 pin connectors.

Does an arthropod have internal or external fertilisation?

arthropods usually have external fertilization

What is the difference between internal and external triggering or synchronization?

This term is usually used with the operation of electronic scopes. You can set the display pattern to be triggered by internal, external or sync. External sync requires a extra wire be connected to what you are viewing to trigger the repeat sweep on the scope. Internal senses the spike in the pattern and makes the sweep repeat.

Which of the material is used for the swamping resistance that is connected in series with the working coil of a voltmeter?

A swamping resistor is usually manufactured from the metal alloy manganin (trade name), or other alloy with similar resistance/temperature characteristics -i.e. practically zero temperature coefficient of resistance. In other words, its resistance will remain more-or-less constant over a wide range of temperature variation.

What is a microphone connected to?
