∙ 13y agoa kidney transplant is the placing of another persons kidney to take the place of the exiting malfunctioning kidney. The kidneys are the organs that filter metabolic waste product, toxins and impurity from the blood to form urine that is then eliminated from time to time. if these things are not removed from the system it results in the person being poisoned and wil rapidly lead to death.

∙ 11y agoIf both of the patients kidney's have failed, they need a kidney transplant to live. (Dialysis is not a permenent solution). This is why kidney transplants happen. (Unfortunately kidney disease rarely affects just one kidney).
A kidney transplant is important because your kidney has stopped working so you need a new one to help filter your blood. Your blood can be filtered with one kidney. Unless you want to be hooked up to a machine it is best to have at least one kidney. If your kidneys is gone for too long then your blood will clog in one space and you will die.
