Avoidance of the sun is the biggest reason. Dermatologists have created this demonic image of the sun, when in fact, like everything else, the sun in moderation is part of a healthy diet. For example, a white person exposing their arms and legs for 10-15 mins at around noon in the summer time per day is perfectly healthy and will get you plenty of vitamin D. Just make sure to put on sunscreen after that and always cover your face.
