Jesus wasn't 'sacrificed' - he sacrificed himself.

Christians believe he did it to atone to his father for the sins of the world.

History did not really specify where exactly the Crucifixion happened, but historians have estimated the whereabouts to be somewhere around Rome or Greece.

Because he died for everyone in the world. I didn't type the above sentence but I agree with it wholeheartedly. I just wanted to add that ...Because Jesus was the result of immaculate conception between God and Mary, He never sinned. He was perfect. Because He was not guilty of sin or anything else, His sacrifice was perfect. He died so that all may live.

In the Gospel of John, John the Baptist declares Jesus is the Messiah who has come to take away the sins of the world. That is why Christ was sacrificed, to atone for the sins of a corrupt world.

In the Old Testament we are told that the priests sacrificed animals daily for God to forgive a sin. These were all temporary sacrifices and had to be repeated everyday. When Jesus went to the cross and died He was the sinless once for all sacrifice for all people. No more sacrifices were needed to take away a person's sin. The problem is not everyone believes this or has even heard of Jesus Christ. In order to receive the forgiveness of God you have to believe that Jesus died for your sins and was raised on the third day from the grave. This is the Gospel in a nut shell. Once you have given yourself to God your sins are forgiven by God and in fact He says He will remember them no more.

This is how Jesus became the ultimate Sacrifice.

Because The Bible tells us that this is so. It was foretold centuries before Christ was ever born, in the Old Testament. The New Testament is the fulfillment of God's plan of salvation.
