Forget all his paintings that showed his genius. The man gave us the hot air ballon, the curved wing, celestial navigation, triginometry, mutliple chemical theories, the telescope, and the list goes on. Not only was he a great thinker, he was an even better doer... he made the things he thought of!!! Answer Not to mention the fact that he invented a good number of 'modern day inventions' long before modern day, like the helicopter!

Because he was so good at so many things. He was am artist that made paintings seem like photos, he was a scientist, (he almost invented the first flying machine) and he even invented an army tank that would later be used in World War I!That is an opinonated question that can't be answered...although someone already did.

He cannot be, because he is not alive since 1519.

But in his lifetime he made lots of inventions and scientific studies, apart from creating some of the best known paintings ever.
