Why did King Louis XVI kingdom fail?

It was financially bankrupt. That debt was not entirely his fault and he had inherited a large National debt. The tax code in use by France at the time excluded the taxation of the nobles and the clergy, both groups of which had become extremely wealthy.

Louis XVI did not receive the education or political knowledge as his parents and grandmother died when he was young. His grandfather, who was king, died when Louis XVI was 20, but he had not spent time with Louis regarding the position. Louis XVI made some choices to build a navy and to help a lagging economy by raising taxes that were not supported by the court or the elite.
