Honour was so important in Elizabethan times because in some ways it showed status, and how important the person/family was. If they were honourable it meant they were highly respected and could often get away with more. However if anyone called them a name or said anything in a way that could be seen as a doubt of honour then it was automatically seen as a challenge.
because if a family had honour they would be highly respected and would get away with more than they would of before. p.s. if anyone has Miley Cyrus' number could u send it to diddlekins@live.co.uk i will highly appreciate it thanks
Men wanted to be `impressive` and they displayed this by showing courage, honour and respect to their partners.
Both did. The King's wife or lover often hunted with him.
In the Elizabethan times, marriage was considered more as a business arrangement than a love relationship. The women had very little choice in husbands, and marriages were arranged by their families in order to provide and/or retain wealth between the families. Poor women could sometimes choose their spouses because there was no wealth involved. In the arranged marriages, young men and women often did not meet their spouses until their wedding day.
The differences between clothing worn by the rich and poor in Elizabethan times would have been quite marked. The rich would have been able to afford silks and brocades, laces, furs and finest weaves, linens, leathers and jewellery. Whereas the poorer classes would have been wearing clothes made from the cheapest materials, rougher weaves, animal hides, coarse woollen items. There wasn't much washing going on, so they would have all been fairly equally unhygienic. The other main difference would be the fact that the upper classes could afford to follow fashion, as can be seen by the many images on the internet of Elizabethan men and women of the court of Queen Elizabeth I.
Marriage during the Elizabethan era was hardly what it is today in Western culture. Women were without legal power and subservient to their husbands. They were dependent on their husbands or male relatives for support. Marriages were customarily arranged by parents so as to benefit two families. That means young women had no choice of who they married and men often had little choice. many couples met for the first time on their wedding day. However, men continued to have their freedom and often had extramarital arrangements with other women. See related link for more information.

During the Elizabethan era the majority of marriages were arranged. Men would look for women who were in their social class or above, who had a good reputation and a large dowry.
