Why was william a bad king?

William was a bad king because he let poor and innocent men, women and children die of starvation weather they believed that he was a good king and also because he killed many people before and after he became king. William was also a bad king because he made his people pay taxes and even did they did pay taxes he would still steal all of there belongings and burn them with fire... This included there food, there house and also there animals.. This is why i believe that William the conqueror was a VERY VERY bad king ?

William was not a rightful King for England as first of all he was not english and was french and couldn't even speak english. He also killed people for no reason and made the english build castles for him. Finally, he always resulted in violence and burnt villages or towns. For example, when the english rebelled as they they did not think he was a good king he fought them and took all their land away from then when they could have solved the problem peacefully.

In my opinion, William was a bad king because he was a cruel person before and after his reign. An example of this is "the harrying of the north" which occurred just after the beginning of his reign. during this event he caused 150,000 people to die or flee their homes and after that, burned all the land which is even more proof that he was a bad king. Another reason he was a bad king was that he over-taxed people and even after they paid the tax he would still steal all their belongings and burn their property. if these don't convince you then simply just search online and you will be flooded with reasons why he was a bad monarch.
