King george was not an heir but he was appointed as king of England after Queen Anne died without an heir. George did not even like England and did not speak any enhlish in that matter he spoke German. So since he did not speak English they had to appoint a prime minister, Sir Robert Walpole to do the duties he could not. And because of this he proposed the idea of Salutary Neglect that was basically to leave the new colonies in America alone and not to be controlled by England. which then developed the War of inependence by the colonies and England, Great Britain...
