Trade flourished as traders from other countries needed goods from china and traders from china needed goods from other countries. The silk road is also a good way for traders to trade on as they will take that route to go to different places to trade.

Silk was valuable on the Silk Road because only the Chinese new how to make, it was light and warm to travel with.
