Artie was ready to concentrate more on acting, he and Paul both were ready for some separate time away from each other, but Paul knew his place was always in music. that's why the break-up had essentially happened during the filming of the movie catch 22 in which filming took place in Mexico hence the song only living boy in new York,,,, " Tom get your plane right on time, I know your part will go fine, fly down to Mexico " (they were called Tom &Jerry when performing as kids) and yes definitely scheduling.
