Because while women say they are looking for certain traits in a man, when they see a good looking man, they automatically assign those traits to him. In otherwords, they "think" with their emotions and only use their brains to justify their emotions and tell you how smart they are for doing so. This has been known for thousands of years and it is only in the most recent times that we deny this truth and make it "offensive" to recognize it so that no one can have a discussion about it. In addition, there is the fact that women, despite their claim they have become "strong and independence" (which if you look closely is feminist code for masculine and hate men), they are still in the mentality that they should be taken care of. In a realm of government that is the road to slavery and hardship: For the government that is big enough to take care of all your problems is also big enough to take away all your rights and freedoms. It is no coincidence that women getting the right to vote coincides with the government starting to get bigger than it should be (until we are defacto socialist today). Just like it is no coincidence that the business cycles of boom and bust started right after private, for-profit bankers gained control over out money supply (including credit, and interest rates).

Women participated in many if not all of the aspects of men's lives, and in many that men did not. They saw voting as an equal right that was being denied them.

Many of the opponents of women's suffrage saw women as unable to cast an informed vote, even when it became obvious that many could. Others insisted that wives could already influence the votes of their husbands. In any case, the US lagged behind many other countries in allowing women the vote.

What gave woman the right to vote?

The status of women slowly began to change in the late 18th century. Certain women came forward and showed they could succeed in areas that had been left to men. Women started to run businesses, write books and participate in intellectual pursuits. Public schools and later colleges started educating women and people men began to see that women had brains as well as bodies. Certain women then began to campaign for civil rights- the right to own property in their own name even if married and later the right to vote and hold office. Even happily married women who liked being mothers and home-makers began to wonder why they could not vote as well as men and their husbands ran out of logical answers. So, eventually more and more men agreed that women should be allowed to vote. Politicians could see that if women were allowed to vote and if their party was the one that gave them that right, they would possibly get a large block of votes on that account, so the move was on to give women the vote. The 19th amendment to the Constitution finally gave them that right in the US.
