Some of Europe's modern highways follow the old Roman roads. You could jokingly say that Roman roads went from here to there and you would not be wrong.

∙ 14y agothe effect is that we have roads today. But, when they were first invented, it made trade a lot faster and easier. Also, instead of isolating the different cities and causing them to become city-states, they let the cities unite and be able to see each other and not be isolated.

They led to all the major destinations around the empire and connected the various part of the empire. Therefore they led to everywhere around the empire. About 20% of the Roman roads (80,500 kilometres, 50,313 miles) were stone-paved roads.
