Why will custom content not work in the sims 2 apartment life?
it depends on what you're downloading, and if your putting into your game the right way. if you're having issues with hair and clothes it might be because you don't have the right meshes for them. but if you are new to using custom content then i can help you put it into your game the right way.
first off, I've added a link that will bring you to WinRAR, you need to download this to make your files show up in your game, the program is free and safe.
when you have downloaded WinRAR you need to go into
my documents/EA Games/The sims 2
you then need to make a new folder and name it "Downloads" put EVERYTHING you download for the sims 2 into this folder, and keep it in that folder.
with winRAR installed, the files should now look like a stack of books with a belt around them, select all the files and then right click and select "Extract Here"
once that is done you may delete the "Stacks of books" but keep the other files.
when you start your game again you might get a pop up saying you have installed content in your game, make sure you select the box that says you want to keep the installed content in your game, then restart your sims game.
now all the things you've downloaded should show up in your game!
Here are some custom content sites. The Sims 2 Exchange The Sims 3 Exchange ModTheSims The Sims Resource Garden of Shadows Simbology More Awesome Than You Insimenator LianaSims2 AnnaMariaSims2 Decorgal The Sim Supply xSIMS.de (mature content) There are plenty more sites than this. If you want more just google "sims 3 custom content".
If you download custom content on the sims 2 will it stay on the CD if you play it on a different computer?
it all depends on what you want more. in seasons, there are well different seasons, and in apartment life there are apartments for your sims to live in, plus there is magic and your sims can turn into witches. so if you think having the different seasons is cooler, then the sims 2 seasons is your best choice but if you want your sims to have magic and apartments then apartment life is the right…
To make apartments is just like making dorms in sims 2 university. make a residential lot and build as you are building an apartment. Once you are done click CTRL+SHIFT+C and write it exactly like this. changelotzoning apartmentbase then press enter and voila you have a custom made apartment.
