Why will the hamsters kill each other Syrian hamsters?
Syrian hamsters are not as gregarious as other rodents may be. They are by nature solitary animals and are fiercely territorial. The term solitary refers to living alone rather than in pairs or groups. Syrian hamsters prefer to live alone.
If they are kept together, yeah. If they are brother dwarf hamsters they may not fight but if they are Syrian hamsters they will kill each other.
if they are syrian hamsters, yes they will! and they sometimes even kill each other however, if they are dwarf hamsters, they will usually get along if they are in groups
yes u can put various hamsters with each other The Syrian will kill the little guy! NEVER EVER EVER put two different breeds of hamsters together.
Only dwarf hamsters can be put into the same cage. Other hamsters, such as Syrian hamsters will kill each other, so unless you want a dead Hamster, Put only One in the cage.
It depends. Syrian and Teddy Bear hamsters will kill each other if they are the SAME gender , even if they are related. There will be less fights if you put hamsters of the opposite gender together to mate. Dwarf hamsters live in groups, so female dwarfs and male dwarfs won't attack each other and will have babies peacefully.
No. Syrians must be kept alone. Even if they are sister/sister or brother/brother, they will kill each other.
if it is syrian (big) then just one or they will fight and kill each other but if they are Dwarf (small) you can have as many as you want if you have the space
'Fancy' hamsters are just Syrian hamsters with interesting fur. Syrian hamsters are solitary creatures, and will fight against another. Do not put them together.
it really depends what hamster you've got .. if its a Syrian hamster or (golden, teddy bear). then NO the hamsters will continually fight and kill each other if they are dwarf you could but you will have to try them in a neutral environment
Different breeds of hamsters are different sizes, the syrian is the biggest at about the size of a large mouse, and then others are smaller than that. syrians must live alone though becausethey will kill each other otherwise.
Because Syrian Hamsters cannot be kept in the same cage. They need separate cages or one of them will die. Syrian hamsters are solitary so females will attack each other, males will attack each other and males and females will attack each other. They can cause each other serious injury or even kill each other. Their solitary nature develops as they mature so they are fine as babies but once they reach 5-6 weeks of… Read More
Please don't do that ( I think they're Syrian hamsters ). They will end up fighting and may even kill each other. For your hamsters sake please don't do it.
Most likely, the dwarf hamsters. The syrian hamsters tend to kill each other when mating so they would need supervision for a long time, while the dwarfhamsters just need to be put in the same cage.
Most male hamsters kill each other if put in the same cage but it is known that the Russian Hamster does not.
With most syrian hamsters, any genders should not be kept together long after being weaned as they will begin to fight or even kill each other. However, as Russian, Chinese and dwarf hamsters are colonial creatures, they can be kept together.
No, Syrian hamsters must be housed alone when they get to be 9 weeks old and would definitely kill and even eat any other hamster with them, especially a dwarf. Dwarf hamsters can often be kept in groups however.
Two male hamsters will fight, no matter what breed they are. Male dwarf hamsters fight, but they are not as territorial. They won't KILL each other, just argue. Other male hamsters will try to kill each other if they aren't dwarfs. Female dwarf hamsters agree with each other half of the time, but it doesn't guarantee that they won't fight.
Syrian hamsters are territorial and will most likely kill your Chinese hamster, so no.
yes or i don't know
no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no way!!!!! syrian hamsters must definatly live ALONE. if they are put together they will definatly fight and could kill each other. if the mother has died or is ill, or has rejected them, then depending on how old the babies are, you may be… Read More
only ever keep dwarf hamsters in the same cage, it doesn't matter what sex the dwarfs are, but once other breeds of hamsters reach maturity(such as the syrian) they will viscously kill any hamster that they share a cage with!
no, they will kill each other. hamsters are very territorial.
no. they kill each other. simples.
Separate them, they cal kill each other.
If you put them in the new cage at the same time then no but if u don't then yes they will kill each other.
no, not all hamsters will get along with each other. syrians cant live together as they will fight and possibly kill each other. dwarf hamsters are usually social but can end up fighting if there isn't enough room for them
Only Dwarf hamsters can have other hamsters in their cage, but from the same gender (unless you want hamster babes!) and they would have to be introduced to each other when they are babies. If you put other types of hamsters together in the same cage they can become aggresive, bite and even kill each other, so please don't put them together in the same cage unless they're Dwarf hamsters and they've known each other… Read More
if you have just cleaned it out it may have banged its nose or if you have to hamsters they may be trying to kill each other
Some hamsters live happily and don't fight all their lives. It depends on what breed you have. Yes hamsters kill each other because mine killed my other one. Keep an eye on them at all times and if they start playfully fighting it's best to split them up just in case Hope I helped x
Male Chinese dwarf hamsters can be mixed with others but if they begin to get aggressive with each other, separate them asap! female Chinese dwarf hamsters do not often like each other. it is best not to mix them as they will probebley end up killing each other. DO NOT MIX DIFFERNT BREEDS OF HAMSTERS eg. a syrain hamster with a Russian dwarf hamster. if you have just put the hamsters in one cage, keep… Read More
It is possible, But they will try to kill each other. I suggest not to.
Yes .so the blood is nasty separate them please!
we got our two syrian hamsters from Pets At Home and they were £8.67 each..hope that answers your question.. We also got ours from pets at home but now they are £6.50 we always try to get them cheap because we are poor ha we bought it to kill ha and my friends oh i hate them ha
Syrian hamsters are solitary creatures, they will not tolerate sharing the same territory with another one. Female hamsters are receptive to males only when they are in heat and ready to breed, otherwise they will attack a male, and possibly even kill it.
They don't neccesarily like the taste of each other. Hamsters are very territorial of their space, and don't like it when other hamsters get in their way. Therefore, they fight and don't stop unless a human intervenes or they kill each other.. because they dont want the other hamster to die from one of it's predadors so it rather eat the hamster or because it is a battle of the fittest
No. That would be a bad idea. They will injure and possibly kill each other.
yes but do not put them in the same cage because they will kill each other :)
Definitely not - they will fight and possibly kill each other.
Well, I have two boy hamsters about 2 months now and i observed them... They will only play and fight not nessisarily kill each other although... You should observe them over a few more days... Well, they wont really kill each other .. They only fight but that is when they grow up... Hmmm... I suggest, if they fight or witnessed a scene of them bickering, you should separate them for abt 24 hours... Thanks!
NO NEVER! Male hamsters are to territorial they will fight for dominance and kill each other. Never put male hamsters together. It just doesn't work.
No, or yes if you want two mamas if they are dwarf hamsters. If Syrians then no, because they will fight and may even kill each other.
Syrian Hamsters will kill and eat a gerbil, do not put them together in the same cage.
NO!! And DO NOT try! A Teddy Bear is a Syrian hamster and a Chinese is a dwarf hamster. They will KILL EACH OTHER.
No. Cohabiting different types of rodents can result in the death of one or all of your pets. Rats kill mice, a behaviour known as muricide and gerbils and syrian hamsters are both extremely territorial and would kill any intruder.
Robo Hamsters get along with other small hamsters if they are siblings or they are raised from youngest. If he/she is a full grown Robo Hamster he will try to kill other hamsters.
Was this hamster kept in a cage with any other hamsters? As it could have been murdered by its cage-mate, whilst this is uncommon with dwarf hamsters it will happen if there are two Syrian hamsters as they are very territorial and will kill for territory. If the hamster was in the cage alone then it would be a good idea to consult a pet shop or vet.
They will fight once the babies are born the mom will try to fight or even kill the dad so take him out of the cage as soon as you can.
No. They don't . Any type of hamster must know each other at birth or a few days after birth to be loyal to each other. If you put two Chinese dwark hamsters together that haven't met before they will most likely fight and kill each other. Sources: Me a hamster owner
You hear many rules about hamsters, mainly regular hamsters are happy in a group while sybirain hamsters will rip off each others face but it really depends on said hamsters ways. I had 2 hamsters when i was a kid and the were always fighting... i foolishly ignored them until one day I checked up on them and one of the hamsters had his stomache ripped open. Hamsters are freaking evil... but arrr so cute!
Females tend to be more territorial and aggressive than males, and thus may fight more, but they rarely even hurt each other.
