His Royal Highness Prince Charles will become king on the death or abdication of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II. It is thought extremely unlikely that she will abdicate, that is to give up being Queen voluntarily. Charles' full names are "Charles Phillip Arthur George" and, while he could choose any of these names - or any name at all -he will probably become King Charles III. The story that he would become King George VII appeared in the British newspapers in December 2005 and was denied a few days later by official sources who said that no decision has yet been made about what his title will be. If Charles were to die before his mother, the next person in line to the throne is his eldest son, Prince William.

He will be king, unless he passes the opportunity to Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, which he can do if he decides that the Duke of Cambridge will be a better king or maybe he just won't want to be king.

The whole reason this may even be a question is because he married Camilla, in a civil wedding, the first time the monarchy has had a non religious wedding.

He is next in line to the throne. He will be King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland unless he abdicates.

There is currently no reason why Charles cannot be the King. There is speculation that he might abdicate, but there is no specific reason he has to.

There was, at one time, speculation that Charles might change his name upon ascending the throne. This speculation has died down in recent years, but it was due to the negative connotations associated with King Charles I (who was executed by Parliament) and his son, Charles II.

Don't forget, King Henry the VIII left the Catholic Church because he wanted to be able to divorce his wife and marry again.

Strictly speaking, there is no King or Queen of England. England is one of four countries which make up the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (England Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland).

Prince Charles is currently the Prince of Wales, and was invested as such by the Queen on 1st July 1969. In Scotland, his titles are Duke of Rothesay andThe Duke of Rothesay and Earl of Carrick, Baron of Renfrew, Lord of the Isles and Prince, and Great Steward of Scotland.

Prince Charles is presently next in line to the British throne. He will not become king until his mother, Queen Elizabeth, abdicates (gives up the throne), retires or dies. When either of these happen, Prince Charles may abdicate and pass the throne to his eldest son Prince William.

Prince Charles is next in line to the British Throne, but because of the rules, his mother will stay Queen for the rest of her life. Prince Charles will become King after Elizabeth II dies.
