There are only a couple solutions I know of, none of which are helping me with it at this stage but have helped in the past. One, is to just wait, it seems to fix itself in time. Another solution is go into File, and click disconnect, then connect again. And lastly check your firewall settings. It may be disabling Limewire from connecting to your network.

Well, 1st off limewire is not a website, its a server that connect to using the 'limewire client'. Frostwire does connect to the same server. As for 'legal', thatywould depend on what country you are in, and what you download.

If LimeWire is not connecting the advice from LimeWIre is: 1. Delete all versions of LimeWire, and delete your preferences directory (/Users/username/Library/Preferences/LimeWire). Delete the "install limewire" receipt from the "Macintosh HD/Library/Receipts" folder. 2. Delete all LimeWire aliases and installers from your desktop and Dock. 3. Restart your computer. 4. Redownload LimeWire You may also need to configure your Firewall settings to allow LimeWire to connect through the Firewall.
