Because you don't have enough the Transmission Fluid in the system.
I have no idea but mine does the same thing. Shifting into 3rd gear I guess 80 -100km/h in cold weather only. As soon as it heats up it shifts fine. The sportage is programmed not to shift to 3rd until the engine is at least 155 degrees
Dynaflow was the automatic transmission used in Buicks from the early 1940's until l966
The transmission throttle valve cable needs to be adjusted.
Throttle position sensor
If your transmission doesnt shift until 35 mph then check your vaccum hose on your transmission.... i had the same prob. and that is what it was because it is a vaccum shift tranny and without the vaccum then it will shift at really high rpms.
because the transmission didn't have IT'S fluid chanded every 25,000 miles.Answerthe automatic transmission fluid was changed and the solenoids, but it still will not change gears until the car is warm. AnswerProbably a tired/worn front pump.
i have a 200 f150 p/u if I put my foot into it it will accellerate and shift as it should until 60 mph. at that time it will over rev and I have to slow down and dissengage over drive.
Are you sure that it's third it's not shifting into, and not fourth? The transmission is designed to not permit shifts into fourth (overdrive) until the engine and transmission have warmed up a bit.
To adjust the shift linkage on a Honda Rancher with an automatic transmission, first, ensure the vehicle is in neutral. Locate the shift linkage adjustment bolt on the transmission and loosen it slightly. Then, move the shift lever through all the positions to ensure smooth operation, and adjust the linkage until it aligns properly with the transmission. Finally, tighten the adjustment bolt securely and test the shifter to ensure it operates smoothly across all gears.
To adjust the automatic transmission linkage on a Ford F-250, start by ensuring the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is off. Locate the transmission shift linkage, typically found near the transmission itself, and check for any worn or misaligned components. You can adjust the linkage by loosening the adjustment nut and moving the linkage until it aligns properly with the transmission’s shift lever. Finally, retighten the nut and test the transmission to ensure smooth shifting through all gears.
It sounds like you need to add transmissino fluid. It could also be a vacuum line that has come loose from the transmission.
mine was acting up too. took me forever to find it. it was the range sensor.
