Thermostat is probably stuck in the open position or the system was not bled properly. Bleed the system properly and if it still exhibits the same symptoms, replace the thermostat. You may have purchased a bad new one.

Very simple. Under the radiator cap. It is one of the rare cars out there that can be serviced so easialy. Simply remove the cap and pull out the thermostat. It will have a small metal bar sticking up if it isn't there then someone has taken it out and it should have one put in.

Which engine?? The 3.1 V6 does not adjust. You simply torque them to 20 foot lbs.
You don't- it's controlled by the PCM. If is has a 2.5 engine you cann't adjust the timing

I have a 1992 Pontiac Sunbird with 2.0 four cylinder in it, just found the crank sensor on it, to replace it. It is located on the FRONT side of the engine, below exhaust manifold and just above the A/C compressor. HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE ELSE!
