when the fluid is cold it will not flow through the transmission as well but when heated up it flows freely

I have a 2002 yellow Monte Carlo, and mine has two small round buttons on the radio insure, one for hour and one for min, with the radio off, push the hour button until the radio churps then select the hour and then push the minute button and then slect if it is am or pm

1988 Monte's didn't have air bags, they never started putting them in until they came back out with the Monte in 95.
Insert the ignition key, and turn it to the ACC (accessory) position. Turn off the radio. Press the display button until Oil Life shows on the radio display. Press the seek button until Tire Pressure Monitor displays. Press the 2nd preset/#2 button. Press the display button again. The tire pressure monitor should now be reset.
The reset is in radio controls. Turn radio off, push and hold dsp button until screen goes to settings. Could take several seconds, be patient. Once at settings, use seek or scan button to scroll through menu. Once on subject you want hit number one preset button then dsp button to reset or change setting. When done scroll to exit and hit dsp button again. Rick
Turn the radio off and hold down the station tuning button for about 10-15 seconds. You should have some options come on on your radio's screen. Scroll through the options by pressing the seek button on the radio until you see (Oil Life) then press the station tuning button again it should say RESET. If it does press it again and it will say DONE.

Refer to your Owner's Manual. With the ignition in the accessory or on position and the radio off, hold the bottom buttom of the radio in for over 8 seconds. You will enter the options mode. Use the right arrow button to key over to "Tire Monitor". Press the "1" key until the display says "Reset". Press the bottom radio button and the display will read "Done". Key over to "Exit" and press the bottom radio button. The oil life monitor is reset in a similar manner.
