either something shorted in the computer when re-connecting, or your grammar implies that you are trying to start it with no battery...which obviously would mean you should first re-connect the battery
I have a 1996 ford escort that will not start and it has a new starter on it and a new battery in it but it still will not start
Check the Battery and cables and if it's not that it could be the alternator.
If it the 3.8........start by disconnecting the battery. Then remove the sepertine belt. On the back of the alternator, there is a red cable and a plug. Undo those. Then there is only 3 bolts. Two in the front, one on the back.
Check the battery.
It's possible. Disconnect the negative terminal on the battery, then disconnect the ECU.
Try disconnecting both battery cables for a few minutes then reconnect. This has worked in the past but varies on models.
At Wal its the eVERSTART 35-3 or the Maxx 35N for the 96 escort lx wagon, mines the 1.9 4 speed automatic.
the transmission fluid for a 1996 ford escort is type MA.
how do you chance a serpentine belt on a 1996 ford escort
Is starter working?
If your 1996 Dodge Stratus wonÕt start you can try to jump start the car. There is no reset button like a computer. You can recharge your car battery with a jump start.
Where is the computer located in a Ford Escort?
