Why does the action replay not work with Pokemon LeafGreen?

If your Action Replay works with Pokemon Diamond, but not with Pearl, all you have to do is insert your Action Replay and turn your DS on. If it says "Insert Game Cart", insert Pokemon Pearl. It will say, "Unknown Game," and you will see a code ("APAE" something). Write it down on a piece of paper and return to the Action Replay home. When it says "Insert Game blah blah", click the * and hit 'Add New Game'. It will have you type the name of the game. Type "Pokemon Pearl" and click 'Next'. Now, enter the code you wrote earlier, and click 'Next'. Voila.

If it says 'Unknown Game' then you have a counterfeit game. That happened to me before. To check if it's a fake game, look at the Nintendo seal on the cartridge. If it's clear then it's a genuine game; if it's blurry it's a fake.

Just cos it says unknown game dont mean it fake it could just be you dont have cheats for that game or if it UK one you have US cheats that dont work for it. Go on code junkies it tells you all you need to know for the cheats and gives you them too. =]

They mostly do, but either you have done something wrong, or Pokémon Diamond or your Action Replay is malfunctioning/not working as it should...

Try maybe to add new cheats, so just entering them as a serie of numbers and letters, if it then still doesn't work you cancheck if the guarantee hasn't ran out yet and change....

This question is though difficult to answer, since it could be a lot of things and the circumstances and all are unknown and not given somewhere, so I hope I could be a little bit of help.

You may need to get a new updated action replay because action replay u need to buy one practicaly every time a new game you get.Hope i could help.

P.s . There is an action replay where it updates automtically

Good question, the same thing happened to me, but I think I might've figured it out. You may not have the right version of the game (the one that works for the pokesav is IPKJ and mine is IPKE), but I might be wrong.

It's because you need to update your AR to the most recent version. This question has been asked by many and it's because for SUPER new games, the action replay can't handle the epicness, so it needs to be updated via AR Code Manager on your computer. Hope this helps! :)

It will work on any Nintendo D.S game, not just Pokemon Diamond and Pearl...

Since LeafGreen is a GBA game, you would need to use a GameShark.
