Possible causes include a weak battery, battery connections, and a failed starter.
click the start tab>run>type MMC and then click ok.
The battery voltage is not high enough to start the car. The clicking is the solenoid trying to get enough power to activate the started motor. Try leaving the cables connected longer or try to get a better connection on the cables.
Not enough power to starter, jump it and then ensure alternator is good. Also check battery condition.
Check if there is voltage to the starter "S" terminal (if starter does not have the small wire, ensure the starter relay is working). Go from there

First check the battery. Sounds like it might be dead. If it isn't the battery, it could be the starter relay. They are pretty easy to replace.
