If you're the mother you have a right to ask why he wants the high heels. You should have shot back, "What size?" If he said 7 - 9 you can bet it's for a girlfriend, but if he said 10 or up, then I would be suspicious that it could be for him. There is nothing wrong with questioning your son and finding out what he feels inside. This could be an innocent request, but you should get to the bottom of it. I think you were afraid to ask him for fear you thought him gay or a cross-dresser. My answer to this is ... what is worse ... a son who is gay or a cross-dresser or a son that is dead? I am frank about this, because no matter what my son and daughter chose to be (short of mass murder) I would back them all the way whether family or friends agreed.
