check the cabin filters inside the glove box, if theyre clogged that will cause low heat it happened to my wifes 2000 silhouette
I have a 2000 Pontiac and my was doing the same thing. It turned out to be my heads were warped. You can smell it coming out of your tail pipe if it is your heads.
my 99 transport dash fuses are in the glove compartment right in the back. i hope they never changed there position since then and i hope it helps you!!
2000 Pontiac grand am se keeps over heating I changed the water pump, the thermostat, radiator cap, head, and it is still over heating. make sure thermostat is going the right way , spring gose to the motor
The battery on a 2005 Pontiac Montana is changed by raising the hood, loosening both of the battery cables, and lifting them off the posts. The old battery can then be lifted out, a new battery put in, and the cables reattached.
Stuck thermostat, clogged radiator.
I have a 1990 Pontiac Transport SE, I have the changed the motor on the driver's window which is power...take off the door panel and you will see the motor...not too difficult of a job...follow the old motor route...
If the 1999 Pontiac Montana glove box will not open with the key, there is probably something stuck in the latch, preventing it from opening. There is also a possibility that the lock was changed by a previous owner if the vehicle was purchased used.
Does not have a belt, timing chain only, no maintenance required. Just keep your oil changed regularly.
Thermostat is probably stuck in the open position or the system was not bled properly. Bleed the system properly and if it still exhibits the same symptoms, replace the thermostat. You may have purchased a bad new one.
have you changed the battery in the thermostat?
thermostat may be sticking and that cause the gauge to show hot, have it checked soon, you could be headed for bigger problems
You may have the thermostat in backwards. The spring side of the thermostat faces into the engine.
Have you checked the computer codes? If so, what do they say?
Make sure water has not entered the oil it will be milky in color.did you bleed the system. I made two little hoes on the side of thermostat to remove air in system
I'm not sure of the years....same as the Lumina I'd imagine. But the Pontiac was called a Trans Sport and was later changed to Montana. The Olds Silhouette was the other name you're looking for.
it is a hyndai that's why it is a hyndai that's why
The thermostat is not opening up enough,
You have to install the thermostat with the jiggle valve in the 12 o'clock position.
3.1L? read the instructions under how to change on a 1996 cutlass...its the same motor and in the same place and is changed the same way. that's the nice thing about GM. .
The houses, technology, transport
if your radiator is in good condition with no leaks from hoses then i would recommend removing the thermostat out then place the thermostat housing back on top up coolant a check your flow by removing cap from radiator. If flow is good then it sounds like a blown head gasket.
The thermostat is inside of the water inlet on top of the motor. Disconnect the top water hose, then unbolt the water inlet. The thermostat can then be changed.
