Why would a 1999 Ford Ranger show error code P0153 O2 sensor slow response Bank 2 Sensor 1 and where is the sensor located?
I got the same code. Broke down and bought the manual. From what I undestand, .. Bank one is the engine side with cylinder #1 (plug wire #1) and bank two will be the other side. Sensor one is between the engine and the cataltic converter. #2 is after the converter. I just got the truck from son#2 so I'm not really sure if cylinder 1 is drivers or passengers side yet. s'pose I'll have to go look. Oh yeah, DON'T get a Chiltons manual... really poorly done. Should have gone with the Haynes. Oh well.

The 2002 Ford Ranger camshaft position sensor is located on the back of the camshaft. The rear engine plate will need to be removed in order to view the sensor.

The 1998 Ford Ranger speed sensor ring can be located on the passenger wheel. The speed sensor ring will be on the inside of the brake rotor.
The 1999 Ford Ranger 3.0 liter engine throttle positioning sensor is located on the cylinder head. The sensor will be near the middle of the cylinder head.

What model year? The earlier 2.3L did not have a MAP sensor.
www. motorcraft. com ( no spaces ) does not list a MAP sensor for the 3.0 L in a 1998 Ford Ranger , there is an AIR MASS SENSOR listed which I assume is the same as a mass air flow sensor which would be located near your air filter housing

Yes, there is a knock sensor on the 2.3L. It is located on the rear driver's side of the cylinder head.

It should be located in the oil pan. On my ranger its on the drivers side.

The fuel gauge could be getting improper signals from the fuel sensor. The sensor is located inside of the fuel tank.
It's on the front of the engine. Look for a large, exposed gear behind the crankshaft pulley. The sensor will be almost touching that gear.
