Since you didn't specify WHEN it shakes (high speed, when using the brakes, low speed???) here are a couple possibilities:

  • wheel balance,
  • worn suspension,
  • worn steering linkage,
  • bent wheel,
  • defective tire.
  • And if it only occurs when you use the brakes, it could even be a faulty rotor even if it IS supposed to be new.

Normally this is caused by warped brake rotors.

Why would the front end shake while braking on a 1996 Dodge ram 1500 truck?

Check for warped front rotors. under slight brake application it may not shake. But under hard braking such as getting off an offramp the truck will shake and the brake pedal may pulsate slightly. Chances are real good this is your problem.

Why would the steering wheel shake while braking?

You have a warped rotor. Brake pads need replacing and the rotors turned or replaced.

Why would the front end shake badly when you put on the brakes?

Most likely you have warped rotors. If the rotors are warped, when you apply the brakes, the brake pads/caliper will be forced to follow the rotor and the vibriation will transmit via the steering wheel and brake pedal.AnsweIf the rotors are warped you will feel a pulsation or a bumping in the pedal when you step on it. It may also be a loose brake caliper. If you are getting a bad shaking I would definitely check the suspension components and the steering linkage for problems.

Why would your car shudder during braking?

i would suggest getting an m.o.t I suspect the brake rotors are warped. Machining or replacement of rotors is necessary to correct that problem.

Why would the front rotors turn after changing the brake pads and rotors?

Possible wrong rotors???

What would cause a loud whining noise in the right front end and shaking of steering wheel when you brake?

Possible its time to change those brake pads out. The whining noise is possibly the metal grinding to your rotor, which would cause your wheel to shake. Consider getting those rotors turned as well.

What would cause a 2003 maxima to shake when hitting the brakes?

A common reason is that the front rotors have warped. Go check out WikiAnswers on the topic of "warped brake rotors". Rotors should wear out smoothly in normal driving. Use of the brakes that generate lots of heat (hard braking, riding the brakes) will result in warped rotors.

How do you change rotors on a 1991 accord?

remove tire calipers brake assembly then pull your rotors off i would recomend putting new brake pads if your putting new rotors you will need a special puller for the rotors cause they are pressed on

What would cause a 97 Maxima to vibrate when you apply the brakes?

your brake rotors are warped. You should repalce you brake pads and have the rotors resurfaced if possible, or replaced.

What if we changed the front brake pad rotors and sensor but only changed the back brake pad and not the rotors and sensor why would the light indicatir stay on the back rotors did not need changing?

Possible that the rear sensors are broken.

About 30 each for rotors and 2 hours (or less) in labour.

Do brake rotors from a 2000 Montana fit a 2002 Montana?

Yes. Although it confuses me as to why you would want to use old rotors for a brake job. New ones are cheap.

What would cause brand new brake rotors to warp repetidly on a 1996 Buick Le Sabre?

Break rotors heat up very fast while drive and stopping, todays technology in my sense isn't the best on rotors. If you have a heavy foot and brake hard, that will contribute to warped rotors. Sudden stops will also case warping. Most brake Specialist (Les Shwab) recommend on new cars, and new rotors to brake easy, (light foot) on your new rotors for the first 1,000 miles of the rotors life. That way they have time to brake in.

What would cause a vibration in slowing down a car?

Warped brake rotors.

What would happen if the brake pads wore out?

Braking would deteriorate and you could damage the rotors.

Why would the brake pedal shake?

Sounds like brake pulsation. Probably from the front brake rotors. Don't cut them, chuck them and get new ones, replace the beat up pads at the same time and adjust the rears-if drum brakes in back. Brake pads/rotors are usually to blame for vibration during heavey or normal braking I agree, new pads, rotors, all the way around will help. But if they are bad, you might want to have the rubber lines checked for cracks to ensure future safety. A pulsating brake pedal which is known in the automotive world as spongy brakes is caused by worn or warped rotors/drums and/or shoes/pads. To correct this problem visually inspect the parts. If the rotors are not perfectly smooth then replace them.

Why would your sienna shake after changing your brake pads?

Normally, when replacing front pads, the rotors and calipers should be inspected for replacement as well. When you step on the brake, this activates the calipers to press the brake pads against the rotors. The symptoms you are describing more than likely mean the rotors need to be replaced as well, possibly they are warped. However, 3 parts are involved that work in unison, so examine all three, both sides. Some Sienna's have a four wheel disc brake option..examine all four. Good luck.

You may need rotors

Can bad rotors cause a car to shake over 40 mph?

It would be highly unlikely.

Why would a 2003 GMC Envoy still shake even after brakes and rotors have been replaced?

Check tie rod ends, inner tie rod bushings, and balljoints. Also, SOMETIMES new rotors may need to be resurfaced. Usually replacing brake pads alone will not help.

Why 94 Grandcaravan Bucking when pushing brake pedle?

You probably have a warped brake rotor. New rotors are fairly inexpensive, I would replace both front rotors and brake pads while your in there. The calipers and sliders along with the brake hoses and lines need to be examined also.

Where can I find information about front brake rotors?

Front Brake Rotors can be a pain, I would recommend going to your local Pepboys, Kragen, O' Reilly's or AutoZone Near you. They will need your year and model of vehicle.
