Physical attraction is powerful and hardwired into us. However, he would be ashamed to admit it and hence take the "weak path" by denying it.

Seeing and looking are completely different. Because a person or thing intersects someone's gaze does not mean they are looking at it.
It is perfectly possible that he doesn't even see what's in front of him.
It is also perfectly possible that he is looking. So what? It's harmless and raises the question why it is a concern for you. If you are so disturbed about something so small it might be that you have larger problems with the relationship than you know.
