Why would a person suffering from lactoacidosis hyperventilate?

Lactoacidosis suggests there is a high level of dissolved carbon

dioxide in the blood, causing the blood to become acidic. In order

to remove this carbon dioxide from the body as it is a waste

metabolite, you hyperventilate in order to "blow off" the excess

carbon dioxide from your blood.
