What causes heat to only come out of the defrost and vent but not the floor of a 1995 S10 Blazer?
Some vehicles automatically turn on the a/c when you turn on the defroster. A/C removes humidity from the air and allows the defroster to clear the windows faster.
That has happened to me twice. Once on a Chevy Van and most recently on a 1995 Ford F-150. Both times it was the heater core that needed to be replaced.
no.....the heater would have to be leaking
The heater control valve (temp blend door) is located behind the dash assembly. The dash assembly has to come out to gain access to it.
Unfortunately, there is no "easy" way to change the heater core. The entire dash board has to come out. then it's easy. Then you have to put the dash back in. Sorry :(
Could ba a blown fuse for blower motor Could be a bad switch for blower motor
Yes, this is normal. The fans will always come on when you turn on the A/C or Defroster. They may also come on in the city during stop and go driving if the engine gets hot enough. On open road driving they will normally not come on. To verify their condition, park the car and let it run with the A/C & defroster off. You will hear the fans come on after awhile as the temperture of the engine reaches the point at which the factory has set them to come on.
Those danged rear window defrosters are wonderful when they work. They are pretty fragile and if just one of the little wires in the glass becomes damaged, you're done. Try opening the trunk and if you have to, climb inside. There has to be an electrical connection in there which goes to the defroster grid. It might have come loose. Or, it might have dirty contacts. Shoot it with a little contact cleaner or WD-40 and try it again. If you can indeed get at that connection in the trunk, try turning on the defroster switch and check for voltage at the connectors with a voltmeter. If you have voltage there but the defroster still doesn't work, it points to a problem in the glass. If you have NO voltage there, it would point toward the cabin and the defroster switch or the wiring from the cabin to the trunk.
pull underdash covers and panelsif it wont come out the bottom then you have to unbolt the entire dash with the bigger screws in lower end corner of dash.and pull dash back enough to get to the heater box screws to open it up and remove the core
You have a bad blower resister..............
A 2000 Chevrolet blazer with a 4.3l V6 would have come with a spin-on style filter. If you go to your local parts store, a WIX brand filter would be a part number 51036
My central heater will not come on while the pilot is lit,The heat does not kick on.
