maybe you or someone was pressuring him too, and he did what he had to do to save your relesionship. Perhaps he doesn't want it to stop but just doesn't feel the same anymore

I would just tell my boyfriend that this guy is making up stories that aren't true about me. If my boyfriend chose to believe this guy over me, I would figure my boyfriend didn't truly care that much for me because his first instinct was not to trust me but to trust some other person and I would be glad of the break up.
