Yes, right before the titanic submerged under the water hundreds of people jumped off and tried to swim to safety and to a lifeboat. but unfortunately hypothermia kicked in and they where frozen dead.

Legend has it that the last person off the Titanic was the head chef. The story goes that he stood on the upturned stern, drinking from a bottle of alcohol, and as it finally sank, he entered the water, his head never submerging. One of the rescue boats plucked him from the water, a Survivor.

People were jumping off Titanic when she was sinking because there was a belief, wrong it seems, that the vessel would create a suction and pull everything (and everybody) down with her. As it was, she barely rippled the surface.
