First of all,you will permit brief you on what an ecosystem is.It a natural unit composed of both Biotic components which are the living components like animals,plants and micro organisms and Abiotic components which are the non living components like the atmosphere,climate,temperature,mountains and others that you can help me name.These two components interact so as to bring about a stable and self sustainable unit in which there's material cycling and energy flow.

Decomposers,which are the micro organisms are as vital to the unit like you and me are vital as well are the plants and the abiotic components. To explain better,let's have this little brief on how energy moves in an ecosystem.

The green plants, which are the primary producers in an ecosystem , use light energy in the form or sunlight during photosynthesis which is the process whereby greenplants and green protoctists use sunlight energy water and carbon dioxide to produce carbohydrate and oxygen as a byproduct in the equation below:

6H2O + 6CO2 ----------> C6H12O6+ 6O2

After the green plants have produced their food and have liberated Oxygen into the atmosphere as byproduct,humans and other animals take in Oxygen and in turn send out carbon dioxide.Other animals like herbivores and omnivores and you and i,feed on these plants have sugar in them as energy.During cellular respiration.animals convert the sugar gotten from plants into ATP which becomes our fuel used for growth and other activities.Animals are in turn eaten upon by other animals called Carnivores for the same energy hunt. Now,when animals and plants die after haven acquired all the necessary energy,their dead bodies are being decomposed by Decomposers which in turn decomposed because they too where hunting for energy but they do not only hunt for energy like the other components. They seek something to give something and this brings us to our question ''WHY ARE DECOMPOSERS IN ECOSYSTEM''

The main role od decomposers like their name state,is to decompose.Aside decomposing,they have other minor roles that they play in the sustainability of the ecosystem like creating holes in the soils to allow for free passage of water and chemicals,their feaces which act as manure to the soil that promots it's fertility.From this,we all can see that an ecosystem without decomposers is like a cow with no tail.Or rather a fire smoke without fire. Without decomposers,dead leaves,feaces,dead organisms and plants will remain undecomposed,the soil will remain unfed,the plants woun't have enough energy meaning,there will be almost no activity in the soil like Nitrogen cycle,Carbon cycle and Phosphorus cycle,the plants will receive sunlight energy but will not be able to process the food because the soil will not be fertile or rather will not even get to maturity.Yes,we may say there's man and technology.Yes there is offcourse but zhen man must have applied his artificial fertilizers and left his farm waiting to get a good yield.What happens to that artificial fertilizers! They do not have the ability to decompose.I think we need each and every one of us to get the answer to this question because there are million answers but i think the person to answer this question is a DECOMPOSER.

Decomposers are very important for any ecosystem. If they weren't in the ecosystem, the plants would not get essential nutrients, and dead matter and waste would pile up

Unless compost is constantly turned, some organisms need to be anaerobic to fully decompose materials.

the role of a decomposer in an ecosystem is to use waste materials and dead organisms for food.

What is a example of a decomposer?

An organism that gets energy by feeding on dead materials and wastes. Fungi are the primary and common of decomposers of litter in many ecosystems. Various types of worms are also considered decomposers, as they act as scavengers. Also some bacteria are decomposers.

Why are scavengers and decomposers important in ecosystems?

Scavengers and decomposers play a very important role in the ecosystem. They are also known as cleaners of the environment as they feed on the dead and thus prevent various diseases to spread.
