Possible coolant sensor or O2 sensor, among other possibilities. If a sensor is bad, it will tell the computer to make an adjustment, when it does other sensors tell the computer "what's your problem, stop that." For example, say a coolant sensor is bad. The car is already hot but the sensor thinks it is still cold. When it is cold or the sensor thinks so, the sensor tells the computer to add more fuel, thus the idle increases. Now another sensor, say the oxygen sensor, says "hey your running too rich, stop it" so the computer again adjusts it, thus the decrease in idle. Depending on the type of fuel delivery system your Car/truck has. Induction will play a major role in how the engine performs. For example,Most fuel system with mass air flow induction will rely on the AIT sensor,02 sensor and air flow to the throttle body to ensure proper fuel mixture. Faulty sensors ,torn or brittle induction boot can result in acceleration fluctuation.Proper diagnostics, and inspect of engine componets will most likely expose the problem. The TPS sensor or the wiring leading to the tps sensor

Why is the acceleration of an object moving at a constant velocity always 0?

Acceleration is the change in velocity of an object. If an object is travelling at an unchanging speed, its speed is neither increasing (which would make a positive acceleration) nor decreasing (which would make a negative acceleration). Thus, the acceleration is 0.

If a force of 10 N is applied to an object with a mass of 1 kg what would be its acceleration?

Force = Mass X Acceleration, so 10 = 1 X A, so the acceleration is 10The acceleration would be 10 m/s2

What is another word for acceleration while slowing down?

That would be "Deceleration" or negative acceleration.

What would cause an object to have a smaller acceleration?

Newton taught everybody that Net Force = Mass * Acceleration. Since we're talking about acceleration, we can rearrange that to be Acceleration = Net Force / Mass. If you want to decrease the acceleration of an object, you would need to decrease the net force applied to it or increase its mass (or both).

What formula would you use to find the acceleration of a 10 kg boulder being pushed by a force of 65 N what would the acceleration be?

it would be rolling friction

What part of speech is the word fluctuate?

Is a basketball and a marble would have the same acceleration when allowed to fall from the same height?

In the absence of air, they would have the same acceleration after dropping from any height at any time. It would be 9.8 meters (32.2 feet) per second2 ... the acceleration of gravity on or near the Earth's surface. In air, the acceleration of the marble would be somewhat more than the acceleration of the basketball, regardless of when or from what height either one fell.

Is acceleration defined as the rate of change of position?

No, that would be speed. Acceleration is the rate of change of speed.

How much is 60 pounds in us dollars?

Currently it would be $88.74 but will fluctuate over time.

Why would engine idle speed fluctuate?

More times than not, it turns out to be the TPS sensor

If the mass of a sliding block is tripled at the same that the net force on it is tripled how does the resulting acceleration compare to the original acceleration?

there would not be any change in the acceleration

Does acceleration change when mass changes?

Acceleration depends on the mass: a=F/m. Unless it is acceleration due to gravity, where it would be constant no matter the mass.

Which of these would you expect to require the most force increasing acceleration of a small mass or decreasing acceleration of a small mass?

increasing acceleration of a large mass

What is force times mass?

Force = Mass * Acceleration If you would multiply that by Mass, you would have mass^2 * acceleration. Which, to say the least, is nothing.
