Why would the belts on a 91 Geo Storm would keep coming loose?

Because the bolts that were used were crap. If you replace all of the holding bolts you shoudnt have a problem.

Probably one of the fan belts is loose or glazed from slipping. Before you start it next time take a bar of handsoap and lightly rub it across the underside of the belts. If the squeking stops you need to have your belts checked and/or replaced.

i had this problem with my 92 storm. i found out that it was the plug on the back of the alternator. it was loose. the ltille band around the plug had got worn. i found some new ones at advance auto and i havent had any problems from then on. that was about 2 years ago. also check the wire that come from the positive side of the battery and goes to the fuse box under the hood i have found that the end of the wire that is actually hooked to a fuse was loose before and that killed my battery once too. i just had to tighten it back up and got a jump off. also the srew and wire that isattached to the back of the alternator can be loose or broke too. but of course make sure that you belts and alternator is in good condition.
