Why would the blinkers on a 95 Chevy Lumina suddenly stop working and how would you go about fixing it?
1) Replace flasher unit OR 2) Clean turn signal contacts with WD40 Had same problem. No turn signals but hazards work. Online research suggested most probably flasher needs replaced or bad contacts in turn signal switch. Mine started working out of the blue - I think contacts were a little gunky. Someone with similar problems suggested blasting the inside of the turn signal switch with WD40 to clean any gunk and corrosion from the contacts.
Fixing the blinkers on any car depends on what is wrong with them. If the flasher has failed replace the flasher. If a bulb or bulbs have failed then replace those bulbs. If the turn signal switch has failed then replace that. It could also be wiring or connection problems. Check connections for dirt, rust or corrosion, fix as needed. Check the light bulb sockets, clean or replace as necessary. Repair broken or damaged wires.
