Up above the brake pedal is a switch that activates the lights. The switch is either broken or it may have moved because most are adjustable. Hold the brake pedal from moving down and push the switch until the lights go out. Also check for a little rubber pad that makes contact with switch it could have dry rotted and fell off. therefore no contact is being made from switch to pedal.
If the brake lights stay on when the car is not running on most vehicles, including the 1994 Dodge Intrepid, there is probably a short somewhere in the wiring to the brake lights. The first place to investigate this problem would be the wires along the firewall that control the brake lights. Also, check the brake light switch above the brake pedal.
the brake light switch on the brake pedal is bad and needs to be replaced. A $10.50 part at parts store.

if you recenly replaced bulbs u may have installed them backwards they should be running lights and brake lights if this is the case they maybe installed incorrectly
Probably a brake light switch.
Possibly the brake light switch at the brake pedal has stayed depressed or stuck.
Readjust the brake light switch on the pedal.
The brake lights may not work on a 1993 Honda Prelude if the brake light switch is no longer working. The brake light switch is in the steering column just above where the brake pedal is bolted to it. There is also a chance that a brake light fuse is blown.
Are you sure it is your running lights & not just the brake lights? A bad brake light switch (common problem) will cause your brake lights to stay on all the time because they are not wired to the accessory switch, meaning they will work whether the truck is on or off. Hope this helps!
There could be several possible reasons why the brake lights stay on all the time on a 307. The most common reasons would be a bad relay or a bad switch.
What do you mean by running lights?? If it is the brake lights you are talking about, it may be the brake switch. this switch is on the brake pedal and makes the lightrs come on when you press the pedal. if you look to the very top of your brake pedal you should see this switch and a wire connected to it.(You may have to remove some of the trim, you may not. Im not to sure on this year. Hope this helps you some.
Day time running lights?
