Ok, if you have an emergency brake handle located by the drivers seat, next to the Transmission shifter. Sounds like it needs to be adjusted. You need to pull off the cover and there sould be a adjustment screw for it. I wouldn't adjust to much if you don't know what you are doing. Could result in the brake not working at all. But just turn it a few turns until the light goes off in either direction. Other than that I have no idea. If you have idiot lights. Like one for Emergency and one for just brakes.... Check the brake fluid. Sometimes the light will come on if the fluid is low. Hope that helps out some. Thanks for the advice! I added some brake fluid and replaced the brake light fuse (the #10 one). The problem vanished immediately and only cost me about $3, great! The screw may need adjusting too, but I didn't want to risk messing it up.
If the light stays on when the emergency brake is not engaged, this indicates the brakes are getting low and need to be replaced.
You have to remove the interior trim of the lift gate.
the hazard light flasher relay is bad
emergency brake light stays on
The light on the dash that says the emergency brake light is on could have burned out if it does not light up when the emergency brake is actually on. In some vehicles, this light will not light up until the car is put into gear to warn the driver that the emergency brake is still on.
on the second generation eclipses it is located at the fulcrum of the arm assembly for the brake pedal.
my brake light stay on but emergency brake is unhooked
there are plastic covers over them on the inside of the trunk that you pop off
Check the brake fluid level, as on many vehicles the "emergency brake" (in the UK, Hand-brake) warning light also acts as a warning light for low brake-fluid.
If the brake fluid level in the brake master cylinder is low ( in your engine compartment ) that will also turn on your emergency brake light just as if the emergency brake was applied
It could be something as simple as a faulty or out of adjustment emergency brake switch. If that's not it, it could be the ABS. Often when the ABS fails the computer will turn on the emergency brake light.
Bad switch on the emergency brake handle.
You can disconnect your emergency brake light removing the emergency brake cable. The emergency brake cable can be removed by turning the swivel nuts to the left, on each end of the cable.
The parking brake light stay lit on the 1999 Mitsubishi Montero sport the parking brake is working and you have not put the light off.
Replace the bulb it works when you turn on the driving lights and when you brake. there are two little springs inside the light one is for the brake light and the other is for the driving light. All you need to do is replace the bulb. good luck.
Open the turn there is a little hatch take it off twist the light out and pull the bulb put the new one in simple.
SOUNDS LIKE A WARNING LIGHT TO ALERT YOU THAT YOUR EMERGENCY BRAKE IS STILL ON PERHAPS YOU NEED THECABLE ADJUSTED Check the brake light bulbs to see if any are burned out. On the 1983 it is linked to the brake fluid level.
Normally that light is an indication there is a problem with the brake system and MOST of the time that is low on brake fluid. There is a possibility (though remote) there is a problem with the switch on the emergency brake pedal.
Check Brake fluid level in master cylinder and make sure Emergency brake is fully released
Sometimes it's the Emergency brake, sometimes it doesnt go all the way down. I had to pull, it release it, pull it, release it etc....
If your vehicle has separate dash panel warning lights for brakes and emergency brakes, then the e-brake light being on while not engaged may indicate that the e-brake switch may be maladjusted or faulty. If the brake warning light is on, it may indicate a brake fluid leak, or in some cases, low brake fluid levels in the reservoir. If your vehicle has a shared warning light for e-brake and brake warning, all causes listed above could apply.
in the fuse box! read your manual! when replacing make sure you replace the fuse with one of equal amperage (amps)
The 1994 Toyota Camry emergency brake light switch can be found beneath the drivers side dashboard. The emergency brake light switch will be beneath the far left hand side of the dashboard.
Inside the trunk behind where the brake lights are are a plastic cover. Remove that and you will see one bolt. Reach in to the far side of the light and you will find the second bolt. Remove those and the brake lights can be pulled out. Now just twist the bulb holders and there are your brake light bulbs.
Is the brake fluid level LOW in the brake master cylinder in your engine compartment ? If the brake fluid level is LOW that will turn the brake light on in your dash
