Why would the radiator cooling fan not turn on when the engine gets hot in a 1988 Nissan Sentra 1.6 the sensor and main relay have been replaced and the fan is good?

Check thermostat, if stat not working it wont be circulating the water past the sensor to bring fan on. Is one of the coolant hoses cold even when it overheats? Hope this helps
