So they are cheap. This is further enhanced by the profit the manufacturer derives from selling the cheap replacement parts for high profit. My 97 GrandAm has two power windows and each has had the window motor replaced once and now another has stopped working. Buy a brand of auto which has a durability/reliability as a design goal. Consumers report can help identify those brands.
