Northern Canada is extremely remote. The climate is extremely harsh and has long cold winters.

Fantastic. I've lived in Canada, the United States and the U.K. I can say without a doubt that I would rather live in Canada than anywhere else.
Canada is in the Northern Hemisphere (northern half of the Earth), and Australia is in the Southern Hemisphere (southern). The seasons are opposite in the Northern Hemisphere and the Southern Hemisphere due to the way the Earth is tilted as it orbits around the Sun.
As far as provinces go, British Columbia (particulary the northern part of it) would fit the bill. The Yukon and Northwest Territories are in Canada's western and northern land, although they are territories and not provinces.
It might be taken as a representation of the First Nations peoples of Canada. However, it would not be a particularly good one because many of them lived in quite different accommodation, such as long houses. To use a teepee would be an unfortunate oversimplification.
The Intuit tribes lived in igloos. The Intuit tribes lived in Alaska, and in Northern Canada. The Intuit would fish through the ice for food.
I live in the US, and the majority lives in the Northern and Western Hemispheres, which would be the the majority of the continental US as well as the Hawaiian Islands, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands. But the Aleutian Islands (of Alaska) cross the International Dateline making them part of the Eastern Hemisphere, in which case you would live in the Northern and Eastern Hemispheres. Other US territories are in the Pacific, and of which, American Samoa is in the Southern and Western Hemispheres. (Other inhabited territories include the Northern Mariana Islands and Guam, which are in the Northern and Eastern Hemispheres, like part of the Aleutian Islands) If you lived in the UK, you would most likely be in the Northern and Western Hemispheres, unless you lived on the east of the prime meridian, in which case you would be in the Northern and Eastern Hemispheres. If you lived in Canada, you would be in the Northern and Western Hemispheres. If you lived in Australia, you would be in the Southern and Eastern Hemispheres. If you lived in New Zealand, you would be in the Southern and Eastern Hemispheres, or the Southern and Western Hemispheres (Cook Islands, Niue, etc.)

CanadaYou would be traveling to Canada if you were to travel due west from the state of Maine.
Reptile
Albertosaurus would have lived in a forested area around Alberta, Canada. It lived alongside dinosaurs like Styracosaurus, Euplocephalus, and Hypacrosaurus.
I would have written....In Canada he went to the cinema once a week.
Since both Canada and France are in the northern hemisphere, their seasons will match. Therefore, if it is summer in Canada, it is summer in France as well.
