try getting new O2 sensors, thair is 2 one close to the electric fans and one under the car by the passenger seat, you may have to pull the carpet up in order to un-plug and plug the new one in, also you may try getting new coil's thair is 3, also new plug and plug wires can help along with a new fule filter located on the driver side next to the transmission, you can also get a new mass air flo sensor located between the air box and the throtle body, k&n makes a great air filter that gave my 98 3 hp if you want more power you can find a peformance chip on e-bay for less than 100$ hope i helped you with your problem
