This is probably a learned behavior - I would suspect your dog is going after trace scents of food or something else that smells good to it. Thorough cleaning with a scent-removing product (there are several decent ones on the market) may help reduce the incidence of this behavior, but it would take dedication and training to eliminate it completely.

They could be thirsty or they may have been something there that tastes good to them. Dogs like cleaning products, even though it is not good for them. They enjoy the flavor of Pine Sol and other chemicals, but make sure they are away from the dog.

well there can be many different reasons. but one is if they are a baby they are just then growing teeth. and in that case they need to chew on something. another thing is the dog is hungry.

Uh, maybe you spilled something on the floor- a drink, or a piece of food? Or, maybe your dog can hear something under the floor moving. My dog often chases animals away from my yard
